Personal Home Care & Support Services

Quality Care & Personal Support Services in the South of Hampshire

We understand that it can be difficult for you to accept that you may need some extra support to stay at home. You may feel like you are losing control and becoming a burden to others. We empathise that often asking for home help and personal care and support can be a very difficult question to ask. We will be sensitive to your circumstances, putting you at the heart of all decisions that are made about your personal home care and support, helping you to remain living in your home happily, safely and independently… and most importantly the way you want to!

We provide care and support in the home to people with different health and medical conditions, including mental health problems, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, multiple disabilities, sensory impairment, dementia and Alzheimer’s, a terminal illness and people who have suffered a stroke.

Our visits can be anything from 30 minutes to short term round the clock care and support. We do not provide continuous live-in care, but can provide this short term, for example if your loved one is going away for a couple of weeks. We do not provide 15 minute visits. To begin with you may only want us to visit you once a week, whilst you get used to the idea. The amount of support you need, and how often you need it, is your decision.

Personal Home Care & Support Options

You may feel very uncomfortable about receiving personal care at home. We always give you a Care Worker that we think you will get on with. If you feel you are unable to build that Client – Care Worker relationship we will find another Care Worker that we think you will prefer.

Some of the personal care tasks we can support you with include:

  • Getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
  • Washing, showering, bathing and oral hygiene
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Hair care and shaving
  • Using the toilet and continence maintenance
  • Preparing a healthy, balanced meal and drink, taking into account your likes and dislikes

To give you an idea of how much time is required, if you require help and support to get washed and dressed and have breakfast we would suggest at least half an hour; if you wanted a shower or bath we would suggest at least 45 minutes.

As time goes on you made need additional equipment and services to support you to stay at home and to not feel lonely. We have established relationships with local Occupational Therapists and other services, such as local day centres.

Medication Help & Support

We will discuss with you what level of medication support you require. We will offer advice regarding the best way to ensure we are able to safely support you with your medication. We will also ensure that we visit you at the time when you need the medication, ensuring your medication is most effective and there are no medical consequences.

Our staff receive thorough training on supporting you with your medication. They also have the knowledge and experience in noticing side effects or changes in you that may be as a result of your medication, reporting these incidences to a Manager, who will follow it up.
